Introspection came from a time when I began meditating and, for the first time, experienced what it felt like for the noise in my head to actually stop.

It was like hitting reset. Beneath all the thoughts, I found this unexpected sense of calm and joy that had been there all along.

The painting holds both sides of that experience — colour, pattern, scribbles and movement surrounding a woman who seems completely at ease within it.

The world can still be loud.
It doesn’t mean we have to be.
